HOW WE USED TECHNOLOGY EMPHATHETICALLY TO HELP ERADICATE TRACHOMA:
︎Australia is the only developed country to still have trachoma.
︎Trachoma is mainly present in remote Indigenous communities, and can be eradicated by simple eye hygiene and awareness.
︎We created the worst virtual reality experience in the world: one that simulated the effects of trachoma on unsuspecting participants in urban centres..
︎The activation raised awareness and funds to send out educational kits to kids in at-risk communities.
︎Australia was on target to eradicate trachoma by 2020, however this has been delayed to 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
