Hey, I’m Huei.

I’m a Malaysian-born, New Zealand-raised, creative type. 

I make art, ads, and artful ads that resonate in culture.

I am interested in creating non-traditional ways of storytelling and communication for purpose-driven brands.

︎Co-created the Australia’s first multi-level support system for marginalised genders, The Aunties.
︎Selected for Google & D&AD’s Rare Leadership Academy for the APAC region, 2016 & 2020.
︎Been named Ad Age Rising Star 2022; B&T Creative Women finalist; Mentor and Champion of Change winners for The Aunties.
︎Lectured, tutored, and judged for AWARD School , Australiasia’s leading creaive advertising course.
︎Exhibited in London, Tel Aviv, New Zealand, Melbourne, and San Francisco with works outliving me in permanent and private collections.
︎Am on Getty Images (art director flex!) and featured just under George Miller in a *big newspaper*.
︎Published in Beazley’s Designs of the Year 2020 (Thames & Hudson) and The Right Brain Workout (Penguin).
︎Given a talk on creativity at the National Gallery of Victoria. I like talking.

︎Run nude into the Southern Ocean during the Tasmanian Winter Solstice with 2000 other mad folk.
︎Been on a 14 day solo thru hike from Victoria to South Australia.
︎Couch-surfed my way through Iran.
︎Created a microscopic adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with microbes and artificial intelligence during stage-4 lockdown.
︎Been in group exhibitions with my creative heroes: Olafur Eliasson, Banksy, and Virgil Abloh.
