HUEI YIN WONG [SHE/HER]
SENIOR ART DIRECTOR
Hey, I’m Huei.
I’m a Malaysian-born, New Zealand-raised, Australian-based creative type.
I make art, ads, and artful ads that resonate in culture. I believe that art gives you soul, and advertising gives you scale. The best combine them.
I’ve helped create big platforms for brands and been part of successful business pitch wins for large clients such as Cadbury, Coca-Cola, and the Australian Government.
I’m a conceptual creative, studied design thinking, and care deeply about visual craft with agency work and art practice making international headlines. In 2021, I created a nationwide strategic visual brand for Myer: Australia’s largest department store, overseeing a design and craft team.
A topic I think about deeply is how we might build rich lives concurrent with a career in advertising; more eloquently summarised by: How can we make life better for others?
When I’m not making art or ads, I’m often in nature—off-grid, reading, swatting flies away.
Personally, I’m most proud of:
︎Being shared on Brocky Korsan’s Instagram.
︎Exhibiting with Virgil Abloh and Olafur Eliasson.
︎Training my cat to high five.
